Depuis 2007, un pont traverse le fleuve et permet de rejoindre les grottes dans la journée de Mandalay en partant tôt. En restant un peu plus longtemps, allez voir le grand marché  de Monywa et les ateliers de laques utilisées dans tout le pays, noires à l’extérieur, brunes à l’intérieur. Vous pourrez voir aussi la pagode Thanboddhay (très kitsh !) ou le « plus grand bouddha du monde, à 8 km.

Taxi à la boutique Pain Thi sur le côté du marché, très gentil.
Beau marché, l’ancien et le nouveau.

Monywa and Paw Win Daung Caves
Since 2007, it’s easy to reach the Paw Win Daung  caves with the bridge. If you leave Mandalay. very early (car or bus), you can do it in a day. 
If you stay overnight, visit the market and the lacquer workshops, making boxes used all over the country, black on the outside, brown on the inside and very resistant.

Hotel, Shwe Taung Tar, Rooad Station, $13 per night
Taxi to the Pain Thi shop on the side of the market, very nice.
Aung Pan restaurant to eat Burmese.
